Will Gilmore Girls be back for even more?

Those chitty-chatty Gilmores returned to TV last week and before we’ve all even had a chance to watch all of the four movie-length episodes that make up “Gilmore Girls : A Year in the Life”, fans are asking “when’s the next series?”.

While it’s likely we will see more, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino tells The Hollywood Reporter that there’s no talk of a second series on Netflix yet.

“We really had a very specific journey in our minds and we fulfilled the journey. So to us, this is the piece that we wanted to do. And the whole thought about, is there more, is there more, is there more – this has to go out into the universe now. We’ve got to put this to bed. And then whatever happens, happens.”

The cast seem quite open to the idea of revisiting the characters every year or two – with Scott Patterson (‘Luke’) suggesting they make it a biannual tradition.

“It’s be nice to do it every year. Maybe every two years, do a three-month thing, do four more chapters. It was easy to do. It was fun. It was really rewarding and people got a sense that if this was going to be the last thing that we now have some closure.”
