Reese Witherspoon is set to grace our screens on December 5.
Fox Searchlight has dated Witherspoon’s pic “Wild” for the December opening which will place the film in a prime spot for Oscar consideration.
“Wild” sees the “Legally Blonde” actress take on a whole new role portraying Cheryl Strayed as she hikes solo for over 1000 miles. The film is based on Strayed’s memoir which recounts her hike on the Pacific Crest Trail, prompted by her divorce and her mother’s death.
Jean-Marc Vallee (“Dallas Buyers Club”) directed the pic from a Nick Hornby screenplay adaptation.
Starring alongside Witherspoon are Laura Dern, Thomas Sadoski, Gaby Hoffman, Kevin Rankin and Michiel Huisman.
