At Wondercon this weekend, DC Chief Geoff Johns noted that a sequel to this year’s “Wonder Woman” isn’t the sure thing many suppose it might be.
While Warners were fast to greenlight sequels to some of their other superhero ventures, just as Marvel have been, Johns noted that a follow-up isn’t on the development slate yet.
“I can’t confirm that”, Johns said when asked if Gal Gadot will don the fighting attire for a second round.
Three scenes from the film were shown to attendees, and they apparently went down a treat. Johns even seemed to indicate that this was one of the first of DC’s recent superhero movie crop that he thinks works, suggesting that the earlier films – like “Suicide Squad” and “Batman v. Superman” – lacked heart and humor.
“Wonder Woman” opens in June.
