Woody Harrelson joins Brie Larson’s The Glass Castle

Woody Harrelson is in early talks join Brie Larson in Lionsgate’s “The Glass Castle”.

Destin Cretton is attached to direct the film based on Jeannette Walls’ memoir about a young girl who comes of age in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads. Walls’ eccentric mother and alcoholic father would stir the the children’s imagination with hope as a distraction to their poverty.

Larson took over the lead role from Jennifer Lawrence, and Matthew McConaughey was also previously attached in the role Harrelson is in line for, but those casting preferences ultimately fell through.

Cretton and Andrew Lanham wrote the latest draft of the script. Gil Netter and Erik Feig are producing.
