Back in March, Zendaya was cast in “a key role” in the new “Spider-Man” film, however character details weren’t revealed at that time.
Today, TheWrap brings an update, reporting Zendaya will play long-time Spider-Man love interest Mary Jane Watson in “Spider-Man: Homecoming”.
The actress will play the love interest to star Tom Holland’s teenage Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man).
Jon Watts is directing the reboot. Michael Keaton, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr co-star in the film which will open on July 7, 2017.
