Open Road Films has given Will Arnett’s animated comedy “The Nut Job 2” a May 19, 2017, release date in the US.
The returning voice cast includes Arnett (Surly), Katherine Heigl (Andy), Maya Rudolph (Precious the Dog), Gabriel Iglesias (Jimmy) and Jeff Dunham (Mole).
Cal Brunker is directing the movie from a screenplay by Scott Bindley and Cal Brunker & Bob Barlen.
In “The Nut Job 2”, the evil mayor of Oakton decides to bulldoze Liberty Park and build a dangerous amusement park in its place. Surly Squirrel and his ragtag group of animal friends band together to save their home, defeat the mayor and take back the park.
“The Nut Job 2” will open against Paramount’s “Baywatch” reboot and New Line’s “Annabelle 2”.
