Will Ferrell has dropped out of indie comedy “Captain Dad” at the last minute.
Ferrell, who was attached to play the titular dad, has bowed out of the project just days before production was scheduled to begin.
According to THR, some members of the cast and crew are already in Colombia where the film was supposed to start shooting on September 26.
Michael Cera and Catherine Keener are also attached to star in “Captain Dad”, writer/director Sebastian Silva’s comedy about a family vacation which goes awry.
Producers Anne Carey, Bingo Gubelmann, Benji Kohn and Austin Stark are now scrambling to find a new lead actor.
THR didn’t give a reason for Ferrell’s departure from the project.
