Stranger Things director to helm next Karate Kid

Will be it be linked to “Cobra Kai”?

Sony Pictures

Jonathan Entwistle, recently attached to direct a Lost Boys remake (whatever happened to that!?), is set to direct Sony’s “reimagining” of The Karate Kid, according to The Illuminerdi.

The site says that although the new film shares no ties with the original film trilogy or TV’s “Cobra Kai” it also isn’t a redo of the original and neither is it intended to replace the movie series we know. Those films still exist in this world.

As per previous reports (via Murphy’s Multiverse), the film fixes on a 17-year-old Chinese boy who moves to New York with his mother, and later finds himself mentoring a peer in Karate.

Entwistle has also directed eps of “Stranger Things” and created and directed two hit Netflix series, ”I Am Not Okay With This”, and ”The End Of The F…ing World”.

So, there’s the low-down. Hopefully it’ll be good.

Yup, Harrison Ford is playing RED HULK!

Sr. Review : A princely film not to be missed
