Phylicia Rashad (“The Cosby Show”) has joined the cast of “Rocky” spin-off, “Creed”.
The actress will play Creed’s widow, and grandmother to Adonis, played by Michael B.Jordan.
The Ryan Coogler directed film, which begins filming January 26 in Philadelphia, also stars Sylvester Stallone (reprising his iconic role of Rocky Balboa) and Tessa Thompson.
Tony Award winner Rashad played Clair Huxtable on the long-running NBC sitcom ”The Cosby Show”; her film credits include “Good Deeds” with Tyler Perry, and “Frankie & Alice” starring Halle Berry.
