Virginia Madsen (“Firewall”) has joined the cast of “Joy”, director David O.Russell’s take on Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Thesp joins Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Robert De Niro – all three of whom starred in O.Russell’s “Silver Linings Playbook” – in the story of the woman who struck it rich when her Miracle Mop invention took off.
The project was penned by O.Russell and Annie Mumolo.
Madsen is an Oscar Nominee for her role in “Sideways”, and has also starred in “The Number 23”, “The Magic of Belle”, “Electric Dreams”, “The Hot Spot”, and the upcoming “Walter” with Milo Ventimiglia and William H. Macy.
