Before The Ring, there was… (Singledom?)

The upcoming “Rings”, the latest in “The Ring” series, will be a prequel to the 2002 film, says Bloody Disgusting.

Set seven years before the events of the Naomi Watts starrer, it’ll tell how the tape was created and go into the backstory of Samara.

F. Javier Gutierrez is directing the film, for which casting is now underway.
