Michael Bay back for Transformers 5

Michael Bay will return to helm the fifth “Transformers” movie, the director himself confirmed to Rolling Stone.

Out promoting his new movie “13 Hours”, the “Transformers : Age of Extinction” helmer said he’d committed to directing a sequel to the latter. It’s star, Mark Wahlberg, will also be back.

The new script is being written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (”Iron Man”) along with ”Black Hawk Down” scribe Ken Nolan.

The next “Transformers” movie is expected to be one that expands the series into a greater cinematic universe – suggesting spin-offs, prequels, and crossover movies might also be in the works.

For Bay though, the fifth film in the current series will be his last. Or so he says.
