The first pics from Dreamworks’ “Fright Night” are online, courtesy Cinematical.
As good as Marti Noxon’s screenplay reads, I’m still a little cautious about the flick – as I am most remakes, but particularly those that are redo’s of sensationally splendid flicks like Tom Holland’s 1985 classic. And, quite frankly, these pics don’t do much to sway me.
Having said that, I did enjoy the script, I like the casting (Colin Farrell’s the wild card though; as good as he is an actor, can he ever top Chris Sarandon’s blood-sucking Jerry?) and I think Craig Gillespie is a talented filmmaker so, my gut tells me this’ll be significantly better than say, the “Elm Street” or “Texas Chainsaw” remakes.
“Fright Night”, out in August, stars Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, David Tennant and Imogen Poots.
