Abigail Breslin is set to star in a TV movie musical adaptation of “Dirty Dancing” for ABC.
According to Variety, the remake will be a “re-imaging” of the 1987 classic about Jennifer Grey’s Baby who falls for a dance instructor (Patrick Swayze) at a 1960s summer resort.
Breslin will play Baby in the adaptation to be directed by Wayne Blair from Jessica Sharzer’s script.
Allison Shearmur and Eleanor Bergstein, who wrote the script for the original movie, will exec produce.
