“Deadwood” fave Ian McShane has joined the cast of Bryan Singer’s “Jack the Giant Killer”, says The Hollywood Reporter.
McShane, next in “Pirates of the Caribbean : On Stranger Tides”, will play the king in Singer’s retweak of the “Jack and the Beanstalk” tale. Nicholas Hoult plays Jack, the boy who leads an expedition to rescue a princess from a Giant.
McShane’s King is the father of the princess.
Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy and John Kassir round out the cast.
