Amazon turning Carnival Row into series

Guillermo Del Toro

Amazon Studios looks to pick up the new series “Carnival Row”, a small-screen take on Travis Beachman’s supernatural script “A Killing on Carnival Row”, says Deadline.

Guillermo Del Toro is co-writing, executive producing and directing.

Amazon has commissioned 3 scripts for the series, to be written by Del Toro, Beacham and Rene Echeverria (“The 4400”).

A Killing on Carnival Row is set in the future in a city called the Burgue, which looks a lot like 18th Century London. It is inhabited by humans and other creatures, and a serial killer is on the loose.

“Carnival Row”, the script, was first sold 10 years ago.
