Arnold Schwarzenegger gets off the housekeeper and onto the Black Sands

With time not exactly on his side, aging action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger is ostensibly saying yes to most offers that come his way (particuarly those offers made by housekeepers). On top of “The Expendables 2” and “The Last Stand”, both of which Schwarzenegger has either shot or is still shooting, the Oak has agreed to front QED International’s “Black Sands”.

Scott Waugh – who worked as a stuntman on Arnie’s “Last Action Hero” – will direct the film, based on a script by “A-Team” writer Skip Woods.

Deadline says the picture will feature the ex-Governator as “a loner who wages war against a ruthless weapons manufacturer and his private army in the Southwest. The tone is Man On Fire meets High Plains Drifter.”

Sounds like Schwarzenegger is picking better material now than he was back in his hey-day – though I suppose the proof will be in the pudding and that’ll still be baking for another year or so yet.
