Beetlejuice 2 is really happening, says Winona Ryder

Winona Ryder back for "Beetlejuice 2"

Winona Ryder’s life-support system seems to be running on the hope that “Beetlejuice 2” finally makes it off the ground.

The “Black Swan” starlet, who has long expressed her desire to participate in a sequel to her 1988 hit, seems to think it’s definitely a go now.

The actress expressed her delight to MTV, when they caught up at Sundance.

“Other than it looks like it’s really happening,” Ryder, appearing in Sundance offering “Experimented”, said, “I’m so thrilled for Michael [Keaton] with everything, it couldn’t have happened to a greater guy, and ‘Birdman’ was so brilliant, and I loved him, and I would be so… I’m really, really excited.”

Tim Burton has said he’s very interested in doing another “Beetlejuice” sequel, along with Michael Keaton who’d reprise the title role. The sequel’s writing duties have been charged to Seth Grahame-Smith, who recently said the film’s libretto has met with the approval of the director and it’s headline star.

Still, everyone’s been promising us “Beetlejuice 2” for a quarter of a century now.
