Berg digs into some Bran

The always entertaining (I mean, he is – not always the movies he helms) Peter Berg has signed to steer a film version of Robert E.Howard’s fantasty novel "Bran Mak Morn", into production.

Variety says the John Romano-penned script tells of a mythical king of ancient Britain who forges an alliance with supernatural troops to contest the unstoppable forces of the Roman Empire.

E.Howard also penned the legendary "Conan" yarn, which is also being prepped [again] for the movie treatment.

Berg hopes to get going on "Bran", once he wraps the Michael Mann produced "The Kingdom" for Universal.
