Casting : The Silence, M:I 6, Godzilla 2

“Hunger Games” alum Stanley Tucci has joined the cast of John Leonetti’s “The Silence” from Constantin Film and EMJAG Productions. Being shopped at Cannes, it tells of of Ally (Kiernan Shipka), a deaf teenager, and her family whose world is turned upside down by a deadly and primeval force. In the fields near her New Jersey home, a colony of bats are attacked by a parasitic insect and soon morph into a new lethal species called Vesps. As the blind, winged creatures quickly grow, spread and attack the human population, Ally’s heightened senses become her strength. She can feel when the Vesps are close and realizes that even the slightest noise summons them in huge numbers. She and her family seek refuge in the woods where they must live in total silence. Amidst the creature chaos, they learn that humans can be just as dangerous when they are fighting to survive. (Deadline)

Angela Bassett (“American Horror Story”) has joined the cast of Paramount and Skydance’s “Mission : Impossible 6”. Director Christopher McQuarrie is returning for the sixth installment of the franchise, which is set to hit theaters July 27, 2018. (THR)

Charles Dance (“Game of Thrones”) and Sally Hawkins (“Godzilla”) have joined the cast of Legendary/Warner Bros’ ”Godzilla: King of the Monsters”. Hawkins is reprising the role of Dr. Vivienne Graham from the 2014 original, while Dance’s role is yet to be revealed. (Deadline)
