Cats & Dogs sequel, neutered?

It was apparently full-speed ahead on another hour-and-a-half of talking pooches and tough-talking tabby’s, but according to the film’s original screenwriters, a sequel to "Cats and Dogs" may have been recently ‘put down’.

Talking to Coming Soon, "Bad News Bears" penners Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, said they’ve heard it’s a no-go.

"It’s not happening, at least not with us," Ficarra told the site. "The first one made so much money that we thought they’d make the other one, but I guess they decided not to, and we got seduced into Bad Santa land" "Yeah, we were going off in a different direction," continued Requa with a note of sarcasm, "so they can’t possibly make a talking animal movie without us." "Maybe it’s too late now," Ficarra concluded.

Near two years ago the trades announced that Warner Bros./ Village Roadshow were in negotiations with Director John Whitesell to helm "Cats and Dogs 2 : Tinkle’s Revenge".
