China bans the wrong Ryan Reynolds superhero movie!

Ryan Reynolds’ latest movie has been banned in China – and it’s apparently got nothing to do with the fact that the big guy’s last superhero movie was complete shit (and so the local exhibitors have balked at releasing another one of his in which he again dons tights).

The country has taken offensive at just how violent the comic book movie is (it’s scored a hard R rating in the states – something that’s gone down a treat with the fan community) so won’t be giving it a run. Apparently they also took offense to the naked bodies and frequent coarse language in the movie.

While Hollywood sometimes has to make alternate cuts of their movies to pass Chinese censors they say they won’t this time because it’d screw up the movie – likely it’s tone, narrative and plot points. But can you really see Fox skipping on an opportunity to make big moolah!? Expect a Chinese-friendly version of “Deadpool” in theaters soon…

Envision a TV broadcast of “Beverly Hills Cop” circa late ’80s. “Flip you, Taggatt…”
