“Straight Outta Compton” star Corey Hawkins is set to star in Fox’s pilot “24: Legacy” — the “24” revival series.
Hawkins will headline as Eric Carter, who “came from a very rough background and turned his life around in the Army Rangers. Now back home in Virginia with his wife Nicole (yet to be cast), he’s pulled back into action as his past comes looking for him” (via Variety).
Uma Thurman, Barkhad Abdi and Laurent Lafitte has signed on to join Bollywood star Dhanush in “The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir”.
Alexandra Daddario is also in advanced negotiations to star in the Marjane Satrapi film about the pilgrimage of a con man from India to a Paris IKEA.
Based on Romain Puértolas’ bestselling novel “The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe”, the comedy adventure centres on “the epic journey of a wild storyteller from New Delhi to Paris, where he falls in love with a woman and accidentally gets deported, along with a band of African refugees, to the far corners of Europe” (via Variety).
Gemma Arterton, Abel Jafri and Seema Biswas are also in the cast.
