Damon & Krasinski’s Promised Land finds a home

“Promised Land”, the flick John Krasinski wrote for himself and Matt Damon to headline, has landed at Focus Features and Participant Media.

Damon was due to direct the film, but couldn’t due to scheduling difficulties. As such, the “Bourne” star’s good friend and frequent collaborator Gus Van Sant is helming the picture.

Deadline reports :

The film, which got a first draft from Dave Eggers when its title was Gold Mist, is a Capraesque tale in which Damon and Krasinski play rival corporate executives. Damon plays a sales executive who arrives in a small town only to have his whole life called into question

“Promised Land”, if I’m not mistaken, was also the name of a late ’80s film starring Kiefer Sutherland and Tracy Pollan.
