The cast of the “Spider-Man” reboot just keeps getting better and better – Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Rhys Ifans and now… Denis Leary!
Leary, says THR, will play police captain George Stacy, the father of Peter Parker’s love interest Gwen Stacy (Stone).
James Cromwell played the same part in Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man 3”.
Leary, who we all love as Tommy Gavin on TV’s “Rescue Me”, has appeared in many films over the years, including “Judgement Night”, “The Ref”, “The Secret Lives of Dentists”, “Demolition Man” and that wonderful satire on politics called “Wag the Dog”. Oh, and did you know Leary is Conan O’Brien’s third cousin? True!
