Depp, Wasikowska back for 2016 sequel to Alice in Wonderland

Johnny Depp sure does like him some greenbacks.

Obviously.

The man behind the ‘Wino Forever’ tattoo has signed to star in Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland 2”, joining Mia Wasikowska for a second trip down the rabbit hole (though, I guess that’s not really correct… we all know ‘The Mad Hatter’ never went down the hole, only Alice did.) Disney have officialised a release date for the unnecessary sequel too, May 27, 2016.

“Muppets” director James Bobin is directing, so expect a couple of song-and-dance tunes.

I understand why they’re doing the sequel – the first thing was a fat hit and then some – but I struggle to think where a follow-up could even go.

Meanwhile, the House of Mouse has set a release date for Jon Favreau’s “Jungle Book” movie too; it’ll be out October 9, 2015.
