The serial killer you hate to love – he’s so darn likeable, even though when he know what he’s does for a living! – returns in the second series of the hit cable series, “Dexter”.
For the uninitiated, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) works for Miami Metro Police Department as a blood spatter analyst, and by night, draws blood himself. Yes, he’s got a penchant for killing people. But he’s been taught – by his father (the excellent James Remar) – to only knock off people who deserve it. Still, it’s a big no-no what Dexter’s doing… and he always has to think ahead if he doesn’t want to be exposed.
The suspense cranks up this season – 18 dead bodies turn up in an underwater graveyard, and Dexter suddenly breaks a sweat. A task force of FBI agents and police officers is assembled to investigate the case and one of their first discoveries is that the so-called Bay Harbor Butcher only kills other killers.
One of Dexter’s colleagues does discover his dark secret – but the good-guy serial killer isn’t going down without a fight. Will Dexter be able to get to him before the cop rats on him? And can Julie Benz (playing Dexter’s girlfriend) be any hotter? Â (actually Jennifer Carpenter’s not too bad either).
One of the most creative and engaging shows currently on Television, “Dexter” just keeps getting better and better. Watch it before its timeslot is overtaken by another friggin’ reality series.
