Dimension remaking The Man from Nowhere sans the subtitles

With no word on the Weinstein’s decision committee on “Halloween 3D” reconvening anytime soon (the film was removed from the studio’s schedule this week), there’s a slot to fill on Bob & Harvey’s release roster. As such, Dimension have announced a remake of the Korean hit “The Man from Nowhere”. Shawn Christensen, who wrote “Abduction” (Wait… that had a writer!?), has been tapped to pen the screenplay for the flick, which will likely encompass the same impressive array of martial-arts sequences the original film did.

“We have always been huge action and martial arts fans and are getting back into the genre in a big way with THE MAN FROM NOWHERE,” said Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company. It’s a slick, fast-paced action thriller anchored by a strong emotional relationship that audiences are going to love.”

The original film follows a quiet pawnshop keeper with a violent past who takes on a drug- and organ-trafficking ring to save the child who is his only friend.

Shawn Christensen says he’s “honored to work alongside Bob and the team at Dimension…I’m a huge fan of the original ‘The Man From Nowhere’, and look forward to bringing it to American audiences.”
