New story from Divergent author coming to the big screen

Here’s one for fans of the “Divergent” series…

Fox 2000 has optioned the rights to “Inertia”, a short story by “Divergent” author Veronica Roth.

Deadline has the news, describing the story as “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” meets “500 Days of Summer”: … a love story that takes place in the near future where technology allows for “last visitations.” That is a process in which a person can be connected to the consciousness of another nearing death. When Claire’s estranged best friend Matt is left in critical condition after a terrible car accident, she unexpectedly learns he’s requested their two minds be connected before he passes. Together they revisit their shared past, reliving the highs and lows of their relationship, and make new discoveries about the future they might have shared.

Temple Hill partners Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen will produce with Pouya Shahbazian.
