Dora the Explorer is headed Down Under

Don’t worry, it’s not going to be an 18+ version of Dora. The Queensland Government have been able to nab a deal with Paramount so that the upcoming live-action film “Dora the Explorer” will be filmed in Queensland, Australia.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk managed to increase tax commissions and thus find enough money to allow the filming of the production to take place at the Gold Coast following the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Films in Australia are particularly good for the economy, and typically create thousands of jobs.

Ms Palaszczuk said the filming of the blockbuster movie in Queensland would keep people in the industry in work and could lead to sequels.

“We have everything that Hollywood want here on the Gold Coast and throughout Queensland,” she said.

James Bobine is on board to direct the children’s film.
