Elizabeth Banks will play the villain in Lionsgate’s bigscreen “Power Rangers” movie.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the “Hunger Games” actress joins newcomers RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Naomi Scott and Dacre Montgomery in the Dean Israelite (“Project Almanac”) directed movie.
Banks plays classic “Power Rangers” baddie Rita Repulsa, an alien witch who has designs on the planet.
The movie, penned by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, is being produced by Saban Brands’ Haim Saban and Brian Casentini as well as Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey. Allison Shearmur will executive produce.
