Ethan Hawke adds four to Blaze biopic

Ethan Hawke has added five to the call sheet of his indie feature “Blaze”.

Filmmaker Richard Linklater, who worked with Hawke on the “Before Sunrise” series, has been enlisted to play a role, as has Kris Kristofferson, Sam Rockwell, and Wyatt Russell.

A biopic of country and Western songwriter Blaze Foley, who lived in a treehouse in the 1970s with his longtime girlfriend Sybil Rosen, “Blaze” tells of the time Foley transformed from a hippie musician to well-regarded singer-songwriter.

Ben Dickey plays Foley, and Alia Shawkat is Rosen. Steve Zahn is also onboard, as is Rosen, who’ll play her own mother in the film.

Hawke and Rosen co-wrote the script.

The movie, which Hawke is also a producer on, is currently shooting in Louisiana and Mississippi
