Exclusive : More Spider-Man Casting

Sony are on the hunt for young Peter Parker!……

(don’t bang the desk like that! Your drink might spill! And if it spills, ants will come! You don’t want to clean that up, do you!? And your ma doesn’t either!)

You’ve no reason to worry, there’s no ‘Young Spider-Man’ movie on the way (yet, I better stress yet). I’m actually referring to Sony putting the call out this morning to find a young Peter Parker.

Sony want a dark-haired Caucasian boy to play actor Peter Parker at age 4 to 6 years old. Ideally, the boy should look a little like Andrew Garfield, the new master of the web…er, webmaster… er, Spider-man.

In addition, the studio’s on the hunt for an actor to play Billy Connors, the son of Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans, announced earlier this week). Applicants need be between 8 and 11 years old.

Comic fans will know that Billy, the son of Martha and Curt, was a cancer survivor. They’ll also recall that he and his mother had to put up with a lot – understandably. ‘Dad’s got scales, Ma!’ ‘His tail keeps whipping me when I’m trying to cook breaky!’ – once Dr. Connors took the form of Lizard. In “Shed”, The Lizard wants to hurt his alter-ego so decides to kill his son.

“Spider-Man” rolls in December with Garfield (Andrew, not the Cat) as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Connors.
