Likely convinced it’ll result in a dozen more films in the series, potentially attract brawny A-listers with their cartoonish quips, Jiaflix Pictures and China Movie Channel’s 1905 Pictures have tapped the director of “Fast and the Furious” to helm futuristic racing movie “Speedhunters”.
Rob Cohen, who also helmed “xXx”, would helm the action-packed tale set in a world of formula racing. A colorful team of racers and crew gets drawn into high intrigue around a revolutionary technology that threatens to change the world.
Josh Parkinson’s script reportedly calls for two Chinese leads to join a couple of American stars.
“Transformers” producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing the film, which is due out Summer 2018.
