Corey Hawkins, Ethan Embry and Merritt Wever are joining the new season of “The Walking Dead” when it premires on October 11, and EW has some new pics and character info on the newcommers.
Wever will play Dr. Denise Cloyd, a character from The Walking Dead comic (see the pic below).
“Denise’s role as a medic becomes critical in the community of Alexandria after the death of Pete, and in the comic her skills as a surgeon prove pivotal, especially after a ghastly injury incurred by one of the main characters—an injury which may or may not happen on the TV version.”
Embry has joined the cast as Carter (see the pic below).
“Ethan [Embry] plays a combo of a few characters [from the comic] that we actually haven’t hit yet or weren’t able to hit in other characters,” showrunner Scott M. Gimble told EW. “He is an Alexandrian, and has been there the whole time, just quite busy.”
And Hawkins is set to play Heath (see the pic below), “a supply-runner for the town (and one who becomes romantically linked to Denise in the original source material)”.
