Flight of the Conchords helmer in talks to direct Thor

Taika Waititi (“Flight of the Conchords”) is in negotiations to direct “Thor: Ragnarok” for Marvel, reports TheWrap.

According to the outlet, Waititi beat out Ruben Fleischer (“Zombieland”,”Gangster Squad”) for the directing job.

Chris Hemsworth returns to star as Thor in the film which will be produces by Marvel’s Kevin Feige. Tom Hiddleston is also on board to play Loki and Jaimie Alexander will play Lady Sif.

“Thor: Ragnarok” opens on July 28, 2017.
