Former Lost star washes up in Asgard for Thor : The Dark World

“Lost” and “The Thing” star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has joined the cast of Marvel’s “Thor : The Dark World”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In a supporting role, Akinnuoye-Agbaje will join the ranks of the bad guys led by Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who), who is playing Malekith, ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim.

He will play Algrim the Strong, one of the strongest of the Dark Elves and who is coerced to fight Thor at Malekith’s behest. (Don’t worry: A redemption, as in the comics, is likely.)

The Alan Taylor-directed sequel, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgard, Christopher Eccleston, Anthony Hopkins, Zachary Levi and Kat Dennings, is the first of a new wave of Marvel studio releases due out over the next three to four years. The other films in the package include “Captain America : The Winter Soldier”, “Guardians of the Galaxy”, “Ant-Man” and “The Avengers 2”.
