Fox restore consciousness to Bonnie & Clyde!

Fox is set to bring to life a modern-day take on the story of infamous bank-robbing couple Bonnie and Clyde, according to Deadline.com.

A contemporary drama project inspired by the tale of the bank-robbing duo, the as yet untitled project is described as “a serialised drama about two sexy, young lovers from struggling families in East Texas who use their respective skill sets to pair up and fight back, one crime at a time.”

Facing a nation experiencing similar hardships, the couple soon become worldwide celebrities, culminating on one of the biggest local manhunts in U.S. history and inspiring countless copycat criminals. Their respective families are swept up in the pair’s criminal escapades and soon become divided about whether to join them in their life of crime or force them to stop.

With the 1967 Oscar winning movie immortalising the story of Bonnie and Clyde, History and Lifetime are planning a four-hour miniseries on the couple that will be produced by Sony Pictures TV, which will be directed by Bruce Beresford.

An indie film about the couple has also been in the works over the last couple of years.
