Friday the 13th loses director & gains writer

Paramount and Platinum Dunes’ “Friday the 13th” reboot has lost its director David Bruckner.

According to TheWrap, “Aaron Guzikowski is nearing a deal to write the script and producers felt it wasn’t fair to ask Bruckner to wait around while they develop another draft. While they’d love to have Bruckner direct the next installment in the horror franchise and plan to go back to him when they have a new script, he is not officially involved with the project at this time.”

While plot details are scarce, we do know the iconic character Jason Voorhees will be back in the next film which is being produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller.

Paramount will release “Friday the 13th” on January 13, 2017.
