Gabriel Byrne, Carice van Houten pick up a Book of Vision

Gabriel Byrne and Carice van Houten are set to star in time-shifting fantasy/mystery pic “The Book of Vision”.

Terrence Malick will executive produce the film for director Carlo Hintermann to helm. He will make his feature directorial debut on the project.

“Game of Thrones’” van Houten will star as Eva, an Italian doctor who decides to go to the National Institute of Health in Maryland to study the history of medicine. While she’s there, Eva discovers information about an 18th century, Southern German doctor, played by Byrne.

Byrne will also play Eva’s doctor in the present day.

“The narrative structure of the film is somewhat similar to ‘Cloud Atlas’: some characters from the past also reverberate in the present, and are played by the same actors,” Hintermann said.

The director penned the screenplay with Marco Saura.
