JJ Abrams has decided that film is the only option for a film as grand in scale, and as epic in story, as “Star Wars Episode VII” – and whether the producers of “Wrong Turn 24” and “Air Bud goes to Mars” agree, he’s shooting the thing in 35mm after all.
The filmmaker, who did wonders with a clean, wide lens with those “Star Trek” things, begins shooting the seventh in the “Star Wars” saga early next year.
TheForce.net says Dan Mindel, who has shot most of Abrams’ recent films, will be shooting the film, using Kodak film stock 5219.
George Lucas shot the previous three “Star Wars” films in digital.
