Caffeinated Clint
Steven Spielberg has hand-balled a project over to a colleague – in this case, “Green Zone” helmer Paul Greengrass (bringing the current number of projects the “Schindler’s List” helmer has in the works to 836).
“The Trial of the Chicago 7”, which Spielberg had been trying to make happen before giving up the fight in 2008, looks to have been resuscitated.
DreamWorks has Greengrass keen on directing (he’s actually been keen on the project for a few years, apparently) the Aaron Sorkin-written libretto, which would get underway in January.
As Deadline remind us, the film tells of “the infamous 1969 federal conspiracy trial arising out of the protesters vs police violent rioting at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago that transfixed the nation because of its counter-culture and leftist mayhem intended to undermine the U.S. government.”
Sounds like a good one to take the kids to.
