Who will direct the Carpenter-produced Halloween reboot!?

“You’re Next” director Adam Wingard is rumoured to be in the running to direct the recently announced “Halloween” reboot.

The new film, which has fans excited because it’ll see original “Halloween” director John Carpenter serving in an executive producer role, will be produced by the gang at Blumhouse and is targeted for an October (of course) 2017 release.

Wingard himself is fueling the rumours, posting a series of images from the earlier “Halloween” movies on his Twitter this week.

Interestingly enough, producer Jason Blum liked one of the tweets.

Also, you’ll notice that Wingard has retweeted John Carpenter’s tweet about returning to the franchise.

There’s a second name reportedly in the running to direct the film too- Mike Flanagan, director of “Hush”. According to Bloody Disgusting, the filmmaker is already in talks to direct the film.

So, that’s the producers keeping their options open perhaps?! Maybe it’s all coming down to whoever pitches the pitchiest pitch!?
