David O’Russell’s corruption-in-congress flick “American Bullshit” has a new male lead : Jeremy Renner, according to Variety.
Bradley Cooper plays a con-artist working for the FBI who helped the authorities expose some corrupt folks in congress back in the ’80s, with Renner now playing the role Christian Bale was set to play, the fed who busts Cooper’s character and forces him into teaming up on the sting.
No word on why Bale has quit on the project, but it’s possible with the actor’s commitments to two back-to-back Terry Malick movies that there could be a shooting clash.
