Genre Giant Lance Henriksen ["Aliens", "The Terminator", "Pumpkinhead"] caught up with our buddies at IESB over the weekend and talked about possibly reprising Frank Black for a "Millennium" movie.
"I think Fox would be insane not to make a Millennium film", says Henriksen, most recently seen in "Alien vs.Predator". "Everywhere I go, all over the world, people keep saying…that film has a built-in audience. I’d love to do it, sure I would".
Henriksen said he has placed some calls to creator Chris Carter about a potential film. "Let’s get going", Henriksen tells Carter.
Lasting only three seasons before its plug was pulled, “Millennium” centred on a bright FBI criminal profiler who’s recently recovered from a bit of a nervous breakdown. He and his family move towns for a fresh start, which is just what Frank Black thinks they needed. Unfortunately it’s not the case – the job Black gets, working for a top-secret team named the Millennium Group, a group of retired law enforcement officers who carry on the fight against malevolence, ends up causing more sleepless nights than ever before.
Henriksen also chatted up the full-speed-ahead sequel to "Alien vs. Predator" and a possible "Alien 5" with Ridley Scott at the helm.
Henriksen, who played Bishop in the "Aliens" series, says if the writers can work out a way to bring him back for either film – he’d "love to do it".
"I love Ridley’s work", Henriksen says of the "Alien" (1979) helmer. "How could you not? I think he single-handedly, with Alien, bought science-fiction into the A-list".
If FOX and Scott did re-team for another "Alien", Henriksen says he’ll "be there".
