Here’s when X-Files returns to TV…

Fox has announced that the six-episode return of “The X-Files” kicks off Sunday, January 24, following the NFC championship football game. The next night it will move it’s normal Monday 8pm time slot.

Dana Walden, chairman of the Fox television group, said in a teleconference today that they wanted to find the best spot for “X-Files” on their schedule.

“..So, it’ll air Sunday night and then Monday night and then for the next weeks, which will give us a great opportunity to platform our new show, Lucifer¸ on Monday night. (…) when we looked at all of the options that we had, it just felt like that was the one that gave the greatest exposure to The X-Files, something our fans are waiting for, and also create a great circulation on our air to promote all of our midseason launches and platform Lucifer. So, it felt just like a win, any way you looked at it.”

The new season reunites much of the cast from the original barrage of eps, including leads David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, but also Mitch Pileggi, William B.Davis,
Chris Carter directs.
