Hunger Games‘ Gary Ross producing Black Lagoon revamp

“Creature from the Black Lagoon” is set for a modern Hollywood remake, according to THR.

Dave Kajganich (“The Invasion”) is set to write up the reimagining of the 1954 classic film, with Gary Ross (“The Hunger Games”) set to part-produce the film. Ross’ father was a writer on the original film.

The film centres on the titular antagonist; a prehistoric, human-esque creature who dwells in the watery depths of the Black Lagoon until he rises to terrorize humankind.

Kajganich is also working on remakes of Stephen King’s “Pet Semetary II” and “The Stand”.
