La La La La La-La-La-La….
Those pesky Blue critters – not the filthy mouted pimps on Sunset – known as "The Smurfs" are heading to the 50-foot-tall cream screen.
According to Variety, Paramount has snagged the righs to the cartoon fave and with producer Jordan Kerner, writer Herb Ratner and Nickelodeon Movies are making a CGI 3-D movie.
Producers plan on doing a "Smurfs" trilogy, with the first due out in 2008 – the 50th anniversary of The Smurfs.
"The Smurfs" was the brainchild of Belgian comic artist Peyo (Pierre) Culliford. His strip led to an NBC-cartoon that led to 256 episodes.
