“Barbershop” star Ice Cube is in talks with MGM to star in a third installment of the franchise.

According to Deadline, MGM is negotiating a mid-seven-figure deal with the actor to reprise his role and to produce also.

Apparently the film company wishes to sign Cedric the Entertainer and Queen Latifah to also return, and they’re looking in to recruiting writers to tackle the project.

The original “Barbershop” was released in 2002 while the second came out in 2004. Together they grossed over $140 million.
