If Scotty makes X-Files trek, will you do it Fox!?

Wondering why a third “X-Files” movie wasn’t announced at Comic-Con? Yeah, so is Chris Carter (and the dude in the Chewbacca suit who ran to the bathroom crying following the panel).
The creator of the ’90s most successful flashlight promotion says Fox are the only reason we’ve yet to hear of, let alone see a third movie in the “X-Files” series. As far as those involved in the series are concerned… ‘let’s do it!’. But until then… *crickets*
Carter, whose new series “The After” is in the works at Amazon Studios, tells Empire “all of us are interested in putting the band back together, [and] I have an idea for a third movie in my head.”
Had Fox been willing, Carter and company would’ve made an “X-Files” movie for a 2012 release – which is when (the series told us) the aliens were supposed to set up camp.
“The colonization date has passed, and that is something we wouldn’t ignore,” Carter says of the storyline for his threequel.
If Fox did decide to push the green button on a new “X-Files” movie, chances are they’d want Carter to bring in a couple of big-name movie drawcards to assist Mulder and Scully on their mission. Carter says one of those guys might very likely be Simon Pegg, who is reportedly a big fan of the series and nearly ended up in “X-Files : I Want to Believe”.
”Gillian [Anderson] worked with Simon Pegg on a movie [2008’s How To Lose Friends And Alienate People] and told me that he was a big fan. We actually thought about putting him in the second movie, but there was no part for him. I certainly would think about him if we were to go forward in any way”.
Cue the theme music… ready the Scotty!

Finally! We know what Tomorrowland is about!
